Dave Lewis first established David Lewis Sign Services in 1988 with a small staff of 4 people, including a heavily pregnant Fran Lewis, carrying baby Rebecca, now at the heart of driving the Company forward with her husband, Graham. Prior to this Dave had 12 years working and gaining experience at two other local Sign companies.
Within 2 years, Dave joined forces with John Howes, one of our suppliers at the time, commencing trading on 12th November 1990. In doing so, we were able to have full-time in-house control of manufacturing, together with a wealth of experience in high quality engraving.
Over the next decade, we were able to fine tune and develop our engraving capabilities whilst at the same time embracing new methods such as laser engraving, etching, digital printing and a range of other Sign making skills.
Dave bought John Howes’s half of the business in 2000, John continued with the Company until his retirement in 2010.

Lewis Howes Signs & Engraving proudly manufacture and print your Signs in house. We house the most up to date digital technologies and have recently extended our print, cutting and engraving services. We carry large stocks of different materials, in various colours and thicknesses which enables us to provide a much more efficient service.
We pride ourselves on being able to adapt to our Customers requirements, often turning around jobs in a couple of days as and when required. Whilst the methods and machinery may have altered over the years, the fundamental skills that our staff possess are the same, with our team maintaining the same outstanding levels of service.

Ordered a sign to be in set of an online TV series. The ordering process was quick and easy – Dave was incredible. Great communication and fast turn around. After waiting for a quote for a week from another company, Lewis Howes quoted, designed and shipped the finish product to me in the same amount of time. Excellent service.
